Prema Ishq Kadhal (Kaadhal) - Movie Review

Having multiple protagonists with their own story is popular trend in Hollywood. Of late it is getting extended to Tollywood. With a few movies made it to the list, Prema Ishq Kadhal is the latest film to enter the league. This film has three different stories connected at some point. Debutant director Pavan Sadineni tried his best to entertain with lively narration, which will impress young film goers.

Prema Ishq Kadhal is a romantic comedy entertainer, which has a few commercial elements to woo mass. Pavan Sadineni's interesting story and screenplay, lead actors' performance, a few comedy scenes, Shravan's music and background score, Karthik Gattamneni's cinematography, beautiful costumes and art works are the main highlights of the film.

Pavan Sadineni has an interesting storyline for Prema Ishq Kadhal, which is a quirky human drama revolving around three love stories without an intersection. At one point, all three protagonists appear in the same frame. The debutante director has tried to offer a message that has already been brought on screen several times earlier. But his way of narration looks unique, fresh and entertaining.

The first half of Prema Ishq Kadhal is loaded with lot of fun, romance, comedy and dashing songs. This portion will definitely entertain the film goers to the core. The pace of the narration slows down a bit in the second half, but it is engrossing. The climax is unique and interesting. It offers a beautiful message about the difference between love and life.

This Movie Rockzzzzzzzzzz.................

‘Krrish 3’ review:

‘Krrish 3’ review:

Hrithik Roshan is perhaps the most apt choice if a super hero movie was to be made in India. And Rakesh Roshan didn’t need to make a choice. Hrithik looks ravishing, and really uber cool as the Indian version of a super hero. One who is suave, macho, dripping with strength and charisma and can give Supermans, Batmans and Ironmans of this world a run for their money. Senior Roshan however makes a big mistake with this franchise – he decides to give it a little too much archetypal Bollywood sugar coating.

In the third edition of the saga, ‘Krissh 3’ attempts to break the technological barriers that our movie industry faced with large scale action sequences. ‘Krrish 3’ has all the elements of an entertainer and a lot of potential to have given some serious competition to Hollywood flicks. One can’t really complain about a somewhat predictable plot (after all superhero movies are supposed to be about the triumph of good over evil).

However, it is interspersed with some highly filmy and done to death dialogues. “Krrish ek soch hain jise koi kaal nahi maar sakta,” says Priyanka Chopra just before the final action sequence. It doesn’t end there. There are many more that can eat up your brains. And then there are some small and some gaping loopholes and unfortunately insane amounts of product placements dotted throughout the script.

If you learn to ignore them, then you might have a chance to enjoy the movie. Kangana Ranaut as Kaya has an intricate character which she plays off with ease, without overdoing it. ‘Kaal’ played by Viveik Oberoi could have been more sinister, his superpowers are a weird mix between Professor Charles X Xavier and Magneto from the ‘X- Men’ series. Many of the other villain sidekicks are also ‘X Men’ inspired. Viveik does the best he can, but the subtlety and the panache that other villains exude is not something he can match with only cheesy dialogues. He doesn’t come close to even Shakaal (Kulbhushan Kharbanda) from Ramesh Sippy’s ‘Shaan’.

It’s an out and out Hrithik movie. He looks good in a costume (however cheap the fabric may look). He also makes the action and the fights look natural. He may not be the most gifted actor but he pulls off both Rohit and Krishna well. Priyanka Chopra looks pretty as the ‘wife’ and doesn’t have much to do. Kangana easily overshadows Chopra with a more crucial part to play in the movie.

The background score by Salim and Suleiman is good and follows the moods well, but the soundtracks by Rajesh Roshan are seriously ignorable.

‘Krrish 3’ borrows heavily from all the Hollywood superhero flicks ever made. But, what work for the movie are the CGI effects and the action sequences and a somewhat interesting albeit predictable plot. More importantly Rakesh Roshan encashes on the lack of any competition from any other movie maker to come up with a more commendable actor who can be as easily identified as Krrish as Hrithik can.

What absolutely fails are the badly written dialogues, usage of Bollywood clichés, the stupidly obvious adverts, bad musical scores and not giving a good character build to Kaal, even though it would have been a formidable watch if at least this could have been done.

Dhoom 3 Trailer in Hindi & Telugu

The trailer of Dhoom 3, which released today, is a hard one to review. It manages to maintain an air of enigma around one of the most hyped movies of the year by not revealing anything about the storyline at all. The trailer manages this feat by using a clever combination of explosions, Aamir Khan’s raised eyebrows and slow-motion. But with repeated viewings, we were able to break the Dhoom 3 trailer down to the simplest of forms: statistics. Here’s what we knew so far: the Aamir Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Uday Chopra starrer is slated to release in December.

Potugadu Telugu Movie Review, Rating | Manchu Manoj | Live Updates | Tweet | Story
Govind is a naughty guy. He loves a girl, who in return loves him. But that love does not go till marriage. Govind drops that girl and falls in another girl’s love. He drops even this new girl and selects another girl. Like this, one after other, he loves four girls and settles down with one girl. This is the story. You might ask, ‘Is this a story?’ Yes, it is the story of Potugadu. Impressed by this story, Potugadu team has bought this from Kannada by shelling out huge money. They have picturised it, as it is in Telugu. Manoj’s energy has added pace and substance to this story. Let’s find out whether Manoj’s energy could steer this normal story to success shores..

We have already discussed about story. There is only one small twist in screenplay. Govind (Manoj) decides to commit suicide. He prays Venkateshwara Swamy and decides to kill himself by jumping from hills. There he meets Posani who also comes to commit suicide. Movie starts with both narrating their experiences. Govind first loves a Hindu girl Vaidehi. He puts a full stop to that and falls in a Muslim girl Mumtaz’s love. A small misunderstanding divides both of them. After that he falls in love with an English girl. He drops even that girl and wholeheartedly loves Mary. Govind changes with Mary’s love. He transforms into a good human being with her love. Who is that Mary? What did she do? At last with whom will Manoj settle down is the crux of the story.

When main story line is thin, movie has to run on screenplay tricks and entertainment. Potugadu team has done the same. They have solely depended on fast narration and out right entertainment at each moment. Punches rain in every scene. Manoj’s energy has peaked. Director has used Manoj’s energy pretty well. Love episodes of Manoj with different girls have been picturised funnily. Manoj’s characterisation creates lots of entertainment. Manoj’s punches and dialogues will impress mass audience. Though each scene appears entertaining if seen separately, the common thread among all the scenes is missing. As a result audience feel that there is no story at all. The whole first half runs like this, basing on entertainment quotient and punches.

Pace dulls in second half. Don’t know why producers bought this story from Kannada by shelling out money. Anyone can come up with a story of this standard easily. Story runs slowly in the second half. As hero does not have a specific aim, his character does not gets elevated. The only highlight of the movie is the twist which comes before climax. There are many double meaning dialogues in the movie. In fact every dialogue has a double meaning behind it. Entertainment has been extracted from double entendre.

Manoj as usually followed Mohan Babu’s mannerism in dialogues. His timing is perfect. Manoj has single handedly steered Potugadu on his shoulders. Manoj’s characterisation keeps audience glued to seats. He has composed his own fights. Music is in tune with Manoj’s style. ‘Pyarme padipoyame’ song will be remembered for some time. Melody song ‘devatha’ is nice. Songs picturisation is cute. Cinematography is fine. Lagadapati Sridhar has produced Potugadu movie with good production values. Though there are four heroines, not one will stand up. As a whole, Potugadu first half is racy and entertaining. If second half also had repeated the same josh, movie would have been much better.
